Her Story

Kristin Rose

Those who know Kristin understand the joy and purpose she found during her trip to Africa in 2024, where she helped build a school in a small village outside the city of Mombasa, Kenya. While there, painting classrooms and building desks, she began to notice something wasn’t right. Her left arm wasn’t working as it should. Tragically, that “something” was later diagnosed as a glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer that has since turned her life upside down.

Despite this, Kristin’s passion for helping others continues to inspire all of us.

A Life of Teaching

Dedicated to education and service

Kristin has dedicated her life to education and service. She volunteered for years as an Art Literacy Director in the Beaverton School District in Oregon, tutored students of all ages in math and statistics, and most recently taught English to individuals in Peru seeking better opportunities for employment. Her impact has been profound, and this project is a way to carry forward her legacy.

Providing educational opportunities to underprivileged children in Kenya and surrounding areas of Africa.

Through the Kristin Rose Foundation, our family is carrying forward her work: building classrooms, supporting communities, and opening the door to learning for children who need it most.

Schools

Fresh Water Well

We’ve helped build a fresh water well, bringing clean, safe water to the community so children can stay healthy and in the classroom.
